At the heart of Student Loan Scout are students, our partner schools and lenders, but our backbone is a highly experienced team specializing in technology, consumer credit, and student financial aid. The team’s varied backgrounds span school and industry relations, sales, and loan operations.
Rocco Fabiano, Chairman
Mr. Fabiano is an “angel investor” in a number of recent start-up companies, primarily related to financial services. Prior to his retirement in 2002, Mr. Fabiano was a Group Executive for Household International, where he oversaw four of its largest subsidiaries. During his five years in this position, he was responsible for $35 billion in assets, 7,000 employees and $650 million in annual net after-tax income. Mr. Fabiano has also founded and took public two successful automotive finance businesses. In addition, he has been the chairman of a commercial bank, a thrift executive, the chief operating officer of a large mortgage company, and a business consultant.
Mr. Fabiano was an Ernst & Young/NASDAQ Entrepreneur of the Year for 1997 and is a former chapter chairman of the Young Presidents Organization. He holds an MBA from Cornell University as well as a BS in Genetics and an MS in Protein Chemistry from Colorado State University.
Ulrika Myggen, Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Myggen has served in several leadership positions in the student financial aid industry over the past fifteen years. Most notably, she held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at ELM Resources for six years. She has also held student loan management positions at Chela Financial and Bank of America.
Ms. Myggen is a past president of the California Lenders for Education, a previous member of the Consumer Bankers Association’s Education Funding Committee, and is a past vice-chair of the California Student Aid Commission’s Loan Study Council. She graduated from Frans Schartau Handelsgymnasium, a business college in Stockholm, Sweden.
Ksenija Ristic, VP Operations
Ms. Ristic has spent six years at Household Auto Finance/HSBC, managing market research and competitive intelligence. Most recently, she has designed and deployed private student loan origination system for a group of credit unions.
Before entering the world of finance, Ms. Ristic was a law intern at an attorney’s office. She was also responsible for establishing and managing one of the first war-time UNHCR offices in Bosnia. After arriving in the United States, Ms. Ristic became Director of Operations at a small New York publishing company. She received her JD from the University of Zagreb (Croatia) Law School, and her MBA from California State University San Marcos.
